Role Overview
Globeducate is seeking a Group Real Estate Director to lead and professionalise real estate and facilities management across its international network of schools. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this senior leadership role will oversee new school developments, major refurbishments, and facilities operations, ensuring alignment with Globeducate’s mission to deliver high-quality education in world-class learning environments. The Director will play a pivotal role in shaping the group’s real estate strategy, fostering collaboration across regions, and promoting best practices. This position is central to supporting Globeducate’s continued growth and its vision of preparing students to become global citizens who can shape the world.
Key Responsibilities
. Strategic Real Estate Development
• Lead key real estate development projects across Globeducate’s 65 schools in 11 countries.
• Collaborate with M&A and expansion teams to assess property acquisitions and leaseback structures.
• Develop long-term infrastructure plans aligned with educational growth and strategic priorities.
• Negotiate effectively with landlords, contractors, municipalities, and other external stakeholders, as needed.
Facilities Management & Learning Environments
• Oversee maintenance, safety, and compliance across all campuses.
• Collaborate closely with regional real estate and facilities managers, procurement and education teams, as well as external designers/architects to create attractive, functional learning spaces.
• Promote best-practice sharing across the group for school design, classroom experiences, furniture, and layout standards.
• Ensure operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness in facilities operations.
Project Oversight
• Supervise external project management firms and ensure timely, on-budget delivery for major developments.
• Track project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
• Provide regular updates to the Board and Executive Committee.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
• Lead and support country-level facilities managers.
• Work cross-functionally with People, Finance, and Heads of School.
• Act as a strategic partner to the COO and senior leadership.
