ISN seeks a Director of Sport and Health and AFEC coordinator who can provide excellent teaching and learning opportunities for Primary, Middle and High School classes in alignment with ISN’s vision and mission, as well as supporting Globeducate events when appropriate for the department. The ideal candidate will have strong athletics skills as well as the ability to further develop the PE department to become a unique selling point of the school.

Teaching responsibilities:
● Plan and prepare learning activities that guide learners towards the highest achievement of curriculum objectives
● Inspire and motivate ALL learners
● Raise the profile of Sport within both ISN the local community through local competitions, regional and global activities
● Work closely with external providers to enhance the provision at ISN
● Be up to date with current practice and research
● Use and develop a range of teaching and learning techniques including inquiry based, project based and problem based learning using media consistent with available resources and student needs and capabilities
● Expand the learners' use of individual and collaborative strategies to generate concepts and ideas
● Evaluate each learner's performance on a continual basis
● Inspiring and developing your team to achieve the highest of standards in teaching and learning
● Prepare evaluative student reports in line with each school section
● Ensure the required standards of classroom management and student behaviour are met
Responsibilities specifically related to student safety and student support:
● Collaborate with the Director of Inclusion to ensure that teachers are aware of students' specific learning needs.
● Ensure that students who meet requirements have inclusive assessment arrangements.
● Ensure all activities are carried out with due regard to health, safety and safeguarding, in accordance with the Safe Guarding and Child Protection Policy.
● Trained in Safeguarding and Duty of Care.
Education and Experience
● Bachelor’s degree in Sports / Athletics
● Qualified teaching status
● Very good working knowledge of the concepts, activities and techniques related to teaching Sport and Health
● Very good foundation in classroom management
● An understanding of the approaches to teaching that include meaningful feedback, student reflection, and ATL skills
● Beginner French level recommended
