We are looking for an outstanding Secondary IB Computer Science Teacher to join our growing Secondary school in September 2024!
We are looking for someone who is passionate about international education, creative in their thinking and collaborative in their approach. The successful candidate will also be adaptable, motivated by challenge and an excellent, highly organised classroom practitioner.
Purpose of Post
- To teach Computer Science to students on the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme and the Pre-IB programme.
- To work with Senior Leadership to support management of academic data (reports, assessment etc) through our MIS (ISAMS) and other digital platforms and the development of AI strategy in the school.
- To support the Principals of Secondary and Primary in whole school timetabling
Overview of Role
All IB students must study a Group 4 Science subject and we aim to introduce Computer Science as part of the IB Diploma course from September 2024 to broaden the range of options available to students. As a result, we are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic teacher of the subject.
The role represents an excellent opportunity for a dedicated teacher to teach in the uniquely dynamic and supportive environment at ICS Milan. The College is a place of innovation and collaboration with a focus on using a STEAM approach within the IB framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching IB Computer Science at higher and standard levels;
- Teaching Computer Science to Pre-IB students;
- Leading an extra-curricular CAS activity group.
- Managing and developing school MIS for academic progress and assessment data;
- Leading AI strategy across the school;
- Building school timetable in collaboration with Principals of Secondary and Primary.
Education and qualifications
- Relevant honours degree and PGCE (or equivalent) (E)
- Ability to teach the subject to IB level (or equivalent) (E)
- Experience of working in an international environment (D)
- Experience of teaching the IB Computer Science course (D)
- Experience of working with students from different cultural, language and educational backgrounds (D)
- Possess an understanding of child protection and safeguarding issues (E)
