We are pleased to invite applications for the role of Secondary & Sixth Form German Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated and collaborative team committed to delivering high-quality language education and inspiring students to develop their linguistic and intercultural competencies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching German across Secondary Education (Years 7-10) and Sixth Form (Bachillerato), supporting students in achieving academic success while fostering a genuine appreciation for the German language and culture.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree and teaching qualifications that meet the requirements established by current Spanish educational legislation for teaching in Secondary Education and Bachillerato.
- A Master's Degree in Secondary Education Teacher Training (MAES), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Native or near-native proficiency in German (C2 level).
- A passion for language teaching and a commitment to student-centred learning.
- Excellent communication, organisational and classroom management skills.
- The ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students and families.
- Previous experience teaching German in Secondary Education and/or Bachillerato will be highly valued.
Responsibilities:
- Teach German to students in Secondary Education and Bachillerato.
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that promote language acquisition and cultural understanding.
- Adapt teaching strategies and learning activities to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Monitor, assess and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the development of the German language curriculum and department initiatives.
- Participate actively in school meetings, events and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain positive communication with students and families.
